Nice staff and excellent location. 5ish minute walk for Shakespeare's birthplace etc. Room left a lot to be desired. Looked a bit shabby and wasn't very clean. I'm sure once the refurbishments are completed it'll be nicer however it wasn't mentioned while booking that half the hotel is under renovation. Feel like we payed a bit too much to be in the 'modern' part of the hotel with no view and trucks going up and down.
Very pleasant hotel with great location. Pet friendly. Currently undergoing refurb so facilities are more limited than usual. Room large and very clean.

Very friendly at reception, had afternoon tea and breakfast. Both were lovely. Stayed in room Holly, very nice! Would recommend
The afternoon tea is lovely. Delicious selection of well made savoury and sweet treats.

The hotel itself was very nice and had pleasant, friendly staff. The restaurant was okay, although my partner sent her food back because the food was undercooked. It wasn't busy in the restaurant and our experience just seemed a little rushed. Breakfast was far better. The food was perfect and came out fresh, there was no pre-cooked food on our plates. It was worth the wait.
OK, first of all I didn't expect to dine in a building that was close to 600 years old... I mean, i knew it was old, as much of Stratford upon Avon is, but 600 years, come on - talk about time travel! Then to the important part... the food. Fantastic. Everyone in the party I was with had a great time, enjoyed the meal, and enjoyed the atmosphere. I would be a fool to not revisit this restaurant should I ever find myself in this part of the world again -- and so would you!

Wow wow wow! Walk in off the street at 9.30pm, ask if the are still serving food and if they do gluten free, answer to both was a resounding yes! We were sat in the dining area at a wobbly table, but we didn't mind as it's all part of the charm! My daughter looked at the menu with delight as there was more than two items to choose from, she had a starter of aubergine and Ratatouille, she devoured it, for main course she had the chicken dish, she's not usually a meat eater but she tucked in, so it must have been good! I had the lamb shank. It was amazing, melt in the mouth, tender, beautiful. Mum and dad had fish and chips and that looked good too. Noone was prepared to share it was that good! They even were happy to prepare a dessert. Lemon sorbet, fantastic finish to a 3 course meal for someone who usually has to think herself lucky that there is an option on the menu! The staff were friendly, helpful and even made sure the elderflower bubbly had the right type of "flour" to make it gluten free!!!! Would definitely recommend a visit, even a return trip again and again.
Dropped in for a drink. A must do being the oldest pub in the town . Great old building for its age. This is a busy pub. Be prepared to wait and just take in the atmosphere in the wait.

Wow! Fantastic food and great atmosphere. We stumbled on this place while looking around in the early evening for somewhere to eat. The food was fantastic and the ale on tap was great. There was also a childern's menu with smaller versions of the adult dishes. Well worth the visit. Would definitely eat here again!
A disappointing visit. Choosing from the fixed price menu means paying extra for portions of vegetables. We were seated in the first floor restaurant with a good view of the river but service to that floor was slow. The staff are friendly and the portion sizes were good. The salad bowl came drenched in oil. We won't be keen to pay a return visit.

A fantastic pub and restaurant which was enjoyed by the whole family ranging from age 8 to 70! All the food was amazing. We returned 4 times in 10 days and everyone that we took with us loved the food there also. There is a lovely outdoor courtyard at the back once you enter the one elm. All staff are really lovely and helpful. I would highly recommend this place.
Lovely light and airy inner courtyard. Great food and sharing platters well above the usual pub grub. Friendly staff, clean, cared for, welcoming environment.

Outstanding place to stay near the centre of Stratford but quiet enough from the throng when the town is busy. Friendly and perfect service
Stayed here with my girlfriend for one night. The quality was outstanding - the minute we turned up we were greeted by Tony with a smile and he showed us to our room. We chose to stay in the 'Tiffany Suite' and it was large, spacious and very clean. It even had its own separate and private 'living room'. The pictures are deceiving on how large this room actually is, it's like an apartment! The bathroom was awesome too. Breakfast was delicious - lots to choose from (fresh fruit, cerials, full english etc). The location couldn't be any better for Stratford-Upon-Avon. Literally a two minute walk and you're right in the centre. Saved a lot of money on car parking! We'll definitely be returning, it is one of our favourite B&B's we've stayed at. The owners clearly take great pride in running the place, and are very friendly.

This place is wonderful. Great location, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was delicious with three menu choices offered. My daughter and I had an ensuite bathroom. Like most places in the UK, there are steep stairs to your room, but our host offered to carry our luggage which was quite unexpected (but appreciated.) I couldn't ask for more!
Great rooms with newly refurbished bathrooms. The couple that run it are so welcoming, can't recommend enough!

Rob & Clare are lovely, they are helpful, courteous and slightly quirky. The rooms are beautifully laid out are are spotlessly clean, which makes this one of the best B&Bs I've stayed in. If you ask Rob nicely, he will show you one of his moves, he's mad for contemporary expressive dance at the local YMCA.
Good room, and we got a great deal. I felt like the owners (whilst nice) could make more of an effort to be polite or well turned out, but the breakfast was nice, and the location good, so overall I would recommend.
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Lovely site with excellent facilities right next to the river. Staff were great and very understanding after some initial mishaps with my motor mover meant I cancelled then reinstated when problem solved. The water taxis into and from Stratford were superb and we'll worth the £2 each way. Lovely weekend. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.
Just come back from a few days in riverside in our tourer. Lovely site, not the cheapest but facilities are the best. Clean showers with constantly hot water and plenty of toilets, really well cared for grounds with a beautiful restaurant where we had a few drinks and a good breakfast. On the weekend there was entertainment if that's what you are looking for. One evening I fancied a coffee and although the machine had been cleaned for the night the bar man was more than happy to make one then clean it again. Small things make a difference. Although it is only just under a mile to walk into stratford during the day there is a taxi boat service run by a couple of very enthusiastic gentlemen for 2 pound each way. A relaxing ride along the canal into town.

Just spent 3 very pleasant days at Dodwell Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The site is kept clean and tidy. The toilet and showers were a little jaded but were kept clean with plenty of hot water
Really good base for visiting Stratford, really nice couple run the site and can't do enough to help you . The site itself is clean and tidy and the toilet/ shower block is always clean as well . My only improvement I could wish for is a curfu for noise as last time we stayed we had a group partying till 01:30 which isn't fair to other people who wanted a quiet weekend and to the young couple next to us who had a very young baby with them . Apart from that a lovely place to stay
