Travelodge Stratford Upon Avon Hotel

251 Birmingham Rd, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 0BF, UK – 0871 984 6414

Incredibly friendly staff. Comfortable rooms. The hotel was very hot but adequate fans were provided

Polite friebdly staff, clean comfy rooms, good food, Only negative would be that the room was very hot, there was a fan available.

Macdonald Alveston Manor Hotel

Clopton Bridge, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 7HP, UK – 0344 879 9138

Pros: Rooms were very nice, spa treatment rooms very nice, food excellent although the 'surcharge' on many of the foods (we had a 'free' 3 course meal in our package) was a little irritating. Grounds are lovely too. Only a 5 minute walk into Stratford centre. Cons: only really the other 'spa facilities', neglected and grubby, the pool is tiny, enough for around 5-6 swimmers, steam room smells of mould, sauna is fine. Don't plan to spend an entire spa afternoon here unless you're going to be doing multiple treatments and nothing else.

Stayed for two nights. Executive room very nice comfy bed slept well. Breakfast in our room for five pound tray charge. good choice of breakfasts very courteous staff . Only down side was the expense of the drinks. 20 pounds for a jd and coke and a 175 ml of red wine was ridiculous!

The Arden Hotel

Waterside, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6BA, UK – 01789 298682

Our stay at The Arden Hotel was absolutely brilliant! The hotel's location is perfect right opposite river Avon, Royal Shakespeare Company and Stratford's town centre, the rooms are tastefully furnished and equipped with lovely details (especially loved the over-sized bed and comfy bathrobes as well as central heating - so cozy!), the restaurant's dinner and breakfast was very delicious (especially the Beef Two Ways!) and the team's high level of attention, friendliness and assistance made our time here really worthwhile - thank you! We'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Shakespeare's birthplace - 10/10!

Had a Sunday lunch here. Was brilliant and the service was excellent. Really enjoyed it.

Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The One Elm

1 Guild St, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6QZ, UK – 01789 404919

Went with a group and had prebooked and preordered. Went for one 'board' of pots each. Nicely decorated and staff are polite, but the food came out all together. Well presented, and tasty but difficult to tell what was what and how much to have. Charged for the two boards but don't feel like we had two boards worth of food.

Great service....good atmosphere...fab food

The Garrick Inn

25 High St, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6AU, UK – 01789 292186

Oldest pub in Stratford but nothing special. Could be great but cold be any ordinary place. Most rooms dedicated to dining. Small bar at front

Great vegetarian food. Lovely atmosphere. Great decor.

The Encore

1 Bridge St, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6AB, UK – 01789 269462

Reasonable enough, but staff slow to clear tables, two near us were vacated within 20minutes of us sitting down but were still not clean almost an hour later when we left. Staff repeatedly walked past empty handed back to the kitchen without taking anything with them, one noticed we'd finished and said I'll clear your plates in a moment only to return to the bar empty handed make some coffees take them upstairs come back with some empties and then disappear not to be seen for 5minutes. Someone heading back empty handed eventually taking out plates. Food mediocre, the twice cooked chips were not all cooked even though they'd been "twice cooked". We won't be going back.

Can't understand why this place hasn't got 5 stars! One of the tastiest Sunday lunches me and my girlfriend have had and although there was a small hiccup with our food it was no problem and the staff handled it well. Would definitely eat here again!

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation plus Guesthouses

Cherry Trees Luxury Bed and Breakfast Suites

Swans Nest, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 7LS, UK – 01789 292989

Outstanding place to stay near the centre of Stratford but quiet enough from the throng when the town is busy. Friendly and perfect service

Stayed here with my girlfriend for one night. The quality was outstanding - the minute we turned up we were greeted by Tony with a smile and he showed us to our room. We chose to stay in the 'Tiffany Suite' and it was large, spacious and very clean. It even had its own separate and private 'living room'. The pictures are deceiving on how large this room actually is, it's like an apartment! The bathroom was awesome too. Breakfast was delicious - lots to choose from (fresh fruit, cerials, full english etc). The location couldn't be any better for Stratford-Upon-Avon. Literally a two minute walk and you're right in the centre. Saved a lot of money on car parking! We'll definitely be returning, it is one of our favourite B&B's we've stayed at. The owners clearly take great pride in running the place, and are very friendly.

Quilt and Croissants

33 Evesham Pl, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6HT, UK – 01789 267629

Great rooms with newly refurbished bathrooms. The couple that run it are so welcoming, can't recommend enough!

It's a small little bed and breakfast with cozy rooms and great food.

The Emsley Guest House

4 Arden St, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6PA, UK – 01789 299557

Fantastic location, wonderful breakfasts. Our room was lovely, very comfortable and extremely clean. Ray and Mel were wonderful welcoming hosts and I'd definitely recommend the Emsley to anyone that I know is visiting Stratford upon Avon.

A very clean comfortable B&B with original features and brilliant cooked breakfasts. Highly recommended

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Campsites and Caravan Parks

Riverside Caravan Park

Tiddington Rd, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 7AB, UK – 01789 292312

Great caravan park, few minutes from Stratford upon Avon centre. Would recommend. River taxi also available from the campsite into Stratford for a reasonable price.

Great location. Love the river taxi. Restaurant could be better.

Dodwell Park

Evesham Rd, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 9SR, UK – 01789 204957

Small campsite/large village of holiday chalets. Well stocked shop but only open from about 8am for an hour or so in the week. All the usual amenities, shower block oldish but perfectly serviceable and clean. No motorhome gray water disposal. Friendly & helpful couple running the site. A couple of miles from Stratford, we take bikes on our camper so the steep hill (down = way in/up = way back) might not be to everyone's tastes if you want to explore the town on two wheels. Loads of local footpaths & green lanes to the campsite.

Great little site, clean toilets and showers , handy bus stop opposite entrance, busses every 1/2 hour really helpful friendly staff will definitely visit again:
