Stratford Tourist Information Centre

Bridgefoot, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6GW, UK – 01789 264293

Very well organised, staff is very helpful & have complete local knowledge, they have all detailed printed, easy to follow maps, printed details of every place to visit there. Once one entered the Information Centre than would not have any difficulty to reach the place of one's interest.

Very helpful staff. Plenty of information available about Stratford and the locality.

55 Ely St, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6LN, UK

Stratford Town Walk

Swan Fountain, Waterside, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6BA, UK – 07855 760377

This is a great walk. Good pace and interesting information. Although it runs 2 hours you don’t really walk far. Wish I had done this walk before studying Shakespeare in school. Had no idea how much his work affected our language today. If you visit Stratford don’t miss this tour!

Had a great day out despite constant rain. Site seeing from river trip undercover, lunch, free art exhibition at town hall, shopping, tea and cake, walking tour round town and finishing off with a fine prosecco in a local hostelry. Oh well, back to the coach and home.

Avon Boating Ltd

Swans Nest Boathouse, Swans Nest, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 7LS, UK – 01789 267073

Great fun, and not a lot of money either. We went with our 3 year old, but enjoyed it just as much as him. Plenty of time provided. Helpful staff, well worth doing when in Stratford.

Last weekend we rent a motor boat here. The staff are very friendly. My family and my dog had an amazing boating experience here!!

Canal and River Tours Ltd

Waterside, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6BA, UK – 01789 608001

Great fun!! Approximately 45 minutes long. Lovely scenery. Goes through a working lock. The commentary and music are really funny. Tours start at 11 am. We found it too busy and went back at about 1 pm, there were lots of seats empty. Also suitable for disabled people.

Today was the day when I was thinking that I lost this cruise, I booked with my parents and came late and see just about the boat going, but the captain reverse and came back again to pick up us! Thank you captain and crew for this and also to get this AMAZING experience by the river. Definitely come back again , this time earlier

Local Parks & Gardens

Bancroft Gardens

Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire CV37 6BA, UK

A lovely area that's close to the town centre, theatre and butterfly farm. Just across the river from the recreational grounds where you can do activities like mini golf or rowing. A good area for a picnic or a short walk along the canal or river. Not ideal in bad weather conditions though due to the lack of shelter/indoor space.

Very busy but vibrant part of the town. If Shakespeare hadn't been born in Stratford, then this would be just a normal town.

New Place Gardens

Chapel Ln, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6ER, UK – 0800 001066

Lovely tranquil gardens and small museum, on one of Stratford's busiest streets. But step inside and you'd think you were in a the country. Beautiful !!

why do all the local guide give four or five stars? can't help thinking there's a hidden agenda

Firs Gardens

55 Grove Rd, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6PB, UK – 01789 260616

Anne Hathaway's Cottage

Cottage Ln, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 9HH, UK – 01789 338532

Anne Hathaway's family home before she married William Shakespeare. Greeted by a informative volunteer to tell you the history of the cottage before you proceed. We enjoyed the cottage, look for the ropes under the beds that make the frame for the mattresses to sit on. Plenty to see and do after the cottage, we also enjoyed the woodland walk, the sculptures on another walk and of course, the garden. Make sure you stop for a photo opportunity at the willow circle seat. You can sit there with the cottage behind you.

Absolutely love this place. Such a beautiful old building. Very pretty gardens. Knowledgeable friendly staff. The history of the place and how well kept it is amazed me. I love shakespeare but even if you don't you will enjoy it here.
