Walking, Hiking and Outdoor Shops

18 High St, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6AU, UK – 01789 338394

Usual large selection of quality gear. Recommend to wait for the sales, and it's usually cheaper on their website with offers

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. One member of staff in particular spent alot of time with me advising on a new pair of walking boots.

Rohan Travel & Outdoor Clothes & Gear - Stratford upon Avon

38 Sheep St, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6EE, UK – 01789 205809

Expensive but love the clothes. I need more practical than fashionable and this fits the bill perfectly.

The staff were exceptionally friendly, and helpful, without being at all pushy.

Fishing and Outdoors

Great shop and brilliant service, thanks martyn

Posting on behalf of ray turner the fisherman. Just wanted to thank you for being a gentleman and remembering the net pole. I appreciate your kindness and good business practice. All the best and I'll see you soon when next in Stratford

Another good one. Walkingworld has huge library of guides with a good selection of walks, of varying lengths and grades, pretty well anywhere in the country. The walks come in an excellent format making them very easy to follow, with photographs to illustrate every important decision point and a proper Ordnance Survey map.

A modist annual subscription gives you unlimited access to all the walks. However you can Pay As Go by downloading indiviual walks..

Camping and Caravaning

Riverside Caravan Park

Tiddington Rd, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 7AB, UK – 01789 292312

Lovely site with excellent facilities right next to the river. Staff were great and very understanding after some initial mishaps with my motor mover meant I cancelled then reinstated when problem solved. The water taxis into and from Stratford were superb and we'll worth the £2 each way. Lovely weekend. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Just come back from a few days in riverside in our tourer. Lovely site, not the cheapest but facilities are the best. Clean showers with constantly hot water and plenty of toilets, really well cared for grounds with a beautiful restaurant where we had a few drinks and a good breakfast. On the weekend there was entertainment if that's what you are looking for. One evening I fancied a coffee and although the machine had been cleaned for the night the bar man was more than happy to make one then clean it again. Small things make a difference. Although it is only just under a mile to walk into stratford during the day there is a taxi boat service run by a couple of very enthusiastic gentlemen for 2 pound each way. A relaxing ride along the canal into town.

Dodwell Park

Evesham Rd, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 9SR, UK – 01789 204957

Just spent 3 very pleasant days at Dodwell Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The site is kept clean and tidy. The toilet and showers were a little jaded but were kept clean with plenty of hot water

Really good base for visiting Stratford, really nice couple run the site and can't do enough to help you . The site itself is clean and tidy and the toilet/ shower block is always clean as well . My only improvement I could wish for is a curfu for noise as last time we stayed we had a group partying till 01:30 which isn't fair to other people who wanted a quiet weekend and to the young couple next to us who had a very young baby with them . Apart from that a lovely place to stay

The walking tour of Shakespeare's Stratford was fantastic. A great friendly guide who relived the mans life and had bags of theatrical flair to bring Shakespeare to life. Awesome Vakue!

Friendly and professional staff made a chore quite pleasant. They have some good rates for local sites.
